I listened to That's how I learn English and below writing is the summery and my reflect to it.
That’s how I learn English
The
first time he came to the US, he was seventh grade and he couldn’t make himself
understood well because he rarely knew a few English greeting words and he
spent his whole summer alone since he didn’t have any friends. Ms. Koh, the
teacher at his ESL was expressing something to him by body language about what
was happening on September 11, and he understood what she meant after turning
on the television at home. He learnt to speak daily life conversation by
watching the Simpson and also news report. At the end of eighth grade, he could
understand most of the things Ms. Koh was saying and he understood that her
husband was a pilot but the plane he was controlling wasn’t hijacked.
I
could understand how he felt for the first few months of his school because I
was a little bit in a similar situation as his. Learning a second language
outside the home country without any knowledge about it has a lot of stages to
overcome and might be overwhelming but I think the more the person whose
learning it is serious, the better it gets quickly.
