There are many
differences between learning and acquisition. The most basic difference is that
learning comes from wanting to be thought by someone or from different sources
and acquisition is gained naturally. In learning you choose the limit of learning
new things by yourself and someday you might forget about it if you don’t
repeat it very often, which means learning come from a lot of practices. But in
acquisition you learn new things by overhearing and using them naturally in
your everyday life.
For example a lot of international students
study English as their second language in their home country and they are able
to score very high on TOEFL to get into American universities but their
communication skills doesn't show their English level because they haven’t
heard the correct pronunciations of the words that often. I have had the same experience for the past 2
years. Before I come to the United States I studied English as my second
language for a few years. But when I got here I found my English skills much
weaker than I thought until I started listening to the native speakers talk and
learning the correct pronunciation.
Overall I think that
learning comes from reading and practicing over and over but acquisition comes
from overhearing hearing and using the in your daily speeches.
