There are many ways of learning and
acquiring for anything you do such as studying a second language, talking to
your friends or playing sport. According to this reading, learning a language
is by one studying with his or her own action like increasing vocabulary levels
in advance of reading a passage and identifying words to understand the meaning
of a passage by combining individual words or pronouncing them. On the other
hand, based on the reading, acquisition is more like practicing and learning
from mistakes. Reading a text to find new words and look up for meaning or
assuming what they mean from the sentences. Thus, acquisition process is closer
to acquiring something naturally rather than learning things by study attempts.
For
example, things I learned for my second language is only my vocabularies and
some knowledge of writing. I always studied many vocabularies to get a better
score in my English test than the previous ones, also gained some knowledge of
writing from a textbook to pass examinations for entering my university. On the
contrary, I acquired to speak a little bit of English just by talking with
friends, using incorrect words in conversations and learned from those errors. Acquisition
process is way more efficient and quick in stead of learning, however, it
depends on your age whether to acquire or learn new things because when you are
young it is easier to acquire a new language. In my opinion, learning and
acquisition of something is all about the timing, but it is best if you use
both in right way and become good at it.
